Radio Free Asia Guild Unit -- NewsNov. 22, 2004 BARGAINING BULLETIN #31 RFA Management Unveils Criteria for New Job Levels, Delays Wage Proposal RFA management delayed presenting a new comprehensive wage proposal Monday, November 22. Management said it would have a complete proposal at the next bargaining session, November 29. Management indicated that proposal will include the usual step increases that were due October 1, a cost of living increase January 1, 2005, and a consolidation of the broadcaster job classification into three levels. Currently there are Broadcasters 1-5 and Senior Broadcasters 1-2. RFA management did present its proposed criteria for determining how Broadcasters would fit into the three new levels (the RFA proposal is attached). No broadcasters would be demoted because of the new criteria, but some could be moved up. RFA management has not proposed pay grades for the new Broadcaster categories yet. There was no further discussion of severance or retirement, both of which need to be resolved along with the wages. |
