Local 32035 Executive Council for 2009-2010

In a brief ceremony at Communications Workers of America headquarters on Jan. 31, elected members of the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild Executive Council were sworn into office for the 2009-2010 term.

Taking office at the WBNG General Membership meeting were: President Mark Pattison (Catholic News Service); Vice President J. Darlene Meyer (Washington Post); Treasurer Sheila Lindsey (American Nurses Association Staff Union); and Secretary Mark Gruenberg (Press Associates Inc., Member at Large). The five "Localwide Delegates" to the Executive Council are Jim Grossfeld (Member at Large); Tiffany Heath (AFL-CIO); Brent Jones (Baltimore Sun); Ken May (BNA); and John Small (AFL-CIO). [Photos]

Also taking office were the six delegates elected to represent the Guild's "Small Units and Members" unit (aka the "At-Large Unit," it is allotted one delegate for every 50 members): Denise Riley (Member at Large), chair; Dan Duncan (Member at Large), vice chair; K.G. Barnes (APWU), Bill Salganik (Member at Large), Barb Irwin (International Labor Communications Association), and Matt Losak (National Labor College). Marcie Lawrence (Department for Professional Employees, AFL-CIO) will serve as an alternate.
